It is our goal to have a strong base of grass roots charitable organizations become the foundation of the Ethically Hip movement, as well as including global organizations such as the Red Cross and United Way. With over 80,000 registered non-profits in this country we want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to give from the heart to the charity of their own choosing.

Whether a charity is local, regional or global, ethically hip believes ALL charities deserve equal consideration and our goal is to inspire you to look for similar groups in your area.

If you know of a charity that would benefit from the ethically hip movement please let us know by clicking here!

Charity Profiles

Green & Blue

Green & Blue causes are all about our planet and the environment. Global Warming is real and nothing but good can come from treating the planet with some respect.

If you could help save the planet by doing nothing, would you?

Since 1990, the David Suzuki Foundation has worked to find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that sustains us. Focusing on four program areas – oceans and sustainable fishing, climate change and clean energy, sustainability, and the Nature Challenge - the Foundation uses science and education to promote solutions that conserve nature and help achieve sustainability within a generation. www.davidsuzuki.org

Wellness

Wellness causes are about finding cures and saving lives. Medical research has done a lot to change the world and we fully support the organizations listed here.

If you could help save a life by doing nothing would you?

Heart disease kills more people every year than any other disease known to man. For over 50 years the the Heart & Stroke Foundation has been leading the way in research and education. Find out how to help. www.heartandstroke.com

If you could help fund a cure for breast cancer by doing nothing would you?

Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. The Canadian Cancer Society is leading the way by providing research, prevention, and support services. www.cancer.ca

If you could rescue a few dozen kids from certain death today by doing nothing would you?

Every day, 3,000 children under the age of five die from malaria; that’s one child every 30 seconds. In Africa, malaria causes about 20 per cent of all child deaths. Yet the transmission of the disease can be drastically reduced by something as simple as sleeping under an anti-malarial bed net. For every donation of 10 bucks you can give a family a net that will drastically reduce the chances of malaria. www.spreadthenet.org

 Compassion

Compassion is one of the cornerstones of humanity. Lending a hand to people who are less fortunate is what we are all about.

If you could help orphaned children find loving families by doing nothing, would you?

The Adoptive Families Association of BC has supported adoption and adoptive families since 1977. Our province-wide family services ensure that people considering adoption, and those who have already adopted, are educated, connected, and supported. We are dedicated to finding a family for every child, both here and abroad.  www.bcadoption.com

If you could provide several hundred homeless folks a full-on Thanksgiving dinner (with all the trimmings) by doing nothing would you?

Employing a full-time staff of approximately 120 and relying on a broad base of loyal volunteers, Union Gospel Mission provides meals, shelter, education, counselling, housing and more to hundreds of people each day. www.ugm.ca

If you could help feed a hungry child by doing nothing would you?

Having a full stomach is something that many of us take for granted. Hunger is a stubborn problem in Canada. These are kids and families in your own cities and towns.  We can eliminate hunger! All it takes are people who care enough to make a difference. www.cafb-acba.ca
